Obviously sugar is not desirable in a ketogenic lifestyle. We like our sweet stuff... what can we use. I found this list of sweeteners and their glycemic index levels. Lower is better as that reduces spikes in blood sugar and insulin response which all has effects on inflammation in the body.

I personally use several for different things. I drink Zevia soft drinks sweetened with Stevia. I use monk fruit for cooking and baking. I use sucralose in my coffee and tea.

Speaking of sucralose, pick up a packet of Splenda and look at the ingredients. Keep in mind they are listed in order of highest concentration to least. Dextrose, maltodextrin and sucralose. The top two ingredients are SUGAR... wtf? FYI Splenda zero is a liquid sweetener that is pure sucralose, so it is a great product. So when people say don't use splenda they are talking about the powder form.
